Today, high voltage switching and control devices are used in many places such as transmission lines, step-down and step-up electrical installations, hydroelectric power plants, etc. Dielectric controls of high voltage products occupy an important place.
TS EN/IEC 60060-1 High voltage test techniques – Part 1: General definitions and test rules, describes what should be done during dielectric controls of high voltage products. It mentions the rules to be observed during lightning impulse tests and network frequency voltage tests. It also specifies the technical conditions required for the test devices intended to be used in these tests. It explains under which conditions the test is negative or under which conditions the test sample completes the test positively during these tests.
